The five rules

How to best prompt with Boreal.

  1. 01Describe motion, not the scene. The start image already defines how everything looks. Tell Boreal what changes: who moves, how, and in what order.
  2. 02One flowing paragraph, present tense.Narrate the moment as it happens. No shot lists, no bullet points.
  3. 03State the camera plainly.Say "the camera stays static and locked, no zoom, no pan," or "a slow push-in." If you don't, it may drift.
  4. 04Dialogue in short phrases with physical beats.Put speech in quotes, break it into pieces, add small physical cues ("a glance at the camera," "a small nod"). Describe the voice, not just the words.
  5. 05Keep it short and iterate.Around 8 seconds is the sweet spot, and Boreal can run up to 15. Make ten and keep the best.

Boreal-specific tips

Phrases that reliably move the output.

Calm the brow

Add forehead relaxed and smooth to avoid wrinkle artifacts on close talking shots.

Warm the audio

Say the voice is close, warm, and full, never thin or tinny. Boreal generates audio jointly, so describe it.

Lock product fidelity

For products, add keeps its exact shape, color, and text. Holding the product intact is one of Boreal's biggest strengths.

Control the sound

Natural room tone, no music keeps UGC clips clean; otherwise describe the ambience.

Kill on-screen junk

End with no captions, no logos, no added text.

Patterns

Five clips the VDE team produced on Boreal, each with the exact prompt and source image behind it. Copy, paste, swap in your own details.
